The Inquisition, Relic-quires

They have disciples lost souls, children of the unimportant, the orphaned, and the repentant never meant to see life beyond the cloistered walls, these are the ones that carried the greatest burden any living soul can carry. There are things so dark that they require to be bound to a living human soul in order to seal away their evil. This was one of the secrets that Cathol held. Relic-quires they are called, those lost souls and all the darkness they protected were hidden away far below the sea in deep vaults made of materials from beyond the star that once forged no living being could bypass. The Death Jubilee was also the death toll of this order. Only a few survived and only a handful of such relics are known to still be in the church’s possession. There are rumors of dark things thought long sealed away that once again are rearing their dark evil heads. This is a great concern to the Pope. He had hoped that as much as that the loss of Cathol was a great blow to the Mother churches great aspirations it also represented a brightening of the church, since nearly all of the relics that required Relic-quires were destroyed or sealed for all time on an irradiated island and the vaults that sealed many of the Relic-quires into their final resting places. Those vaults cannot move again without completely rebuilding the infrastructure that was destroyed by the bombs. Pope Micheal the First, the First US born pope, fears that far fewer of the relics were destroyed than the loss of Cathol lead them all to believe or worse the demons are returning in force to this world which could be the signal that the Light-bringer himself my return and their will be a new war in Heaven.
